With this chapter we begin detailed coverage of the recording domain. This chapter is divided into six major sections. In a broad sense, this chapter progresses from reintroducing recording elements and rhythm/time, issues around transcribing and describing recording elements, and the challenges of hearing and reproducing recording elements.
