Appendix A. Digital Video Technology in Depth
Digital video can be a highly technical subject. However, as we've emphasized repeatedly, the better you know your tools the better your results will be. For example, videographers and editors in particular really do need to become proficient in the details of recording formats, file conversion, compression trade-offs, and color correction—to name just a few of the trickier topics. So, for those of you who enjoy working under the hood, this appendix supplements the discussions on camcorders in Chapters 3 and 4.
