Running QAOA on Simulators and Amazon Braket Devices
We have now reached the last chapter of Section 2, Building Blocks for Real World Use Cases, of this book. We started this section with Chapter 5, Using a Quantum Annealer – Developing a QUBO Function and Applying Constraints, where we showed how Quadratic Binary Optimization (QUBO) problems can be solved using D-Wave’s quantum annealer. Then, from Chapter 6, Using Gate-Based Quantum Computers – Qubits and Quantum Circuits, to Chapter 8, Using Hybrid Algorithms – Optimization Using Gate-Based Quantum Computers, we incrementally developed the concepts of gate-based quantum circuits, which led to the hybrid Quantum Approximate Optimization Algorithm (QAOA).
