4. Support Tools for QFD
To explain QFD and its uses in Six Sigma, we must first acquaint ourselves with some procedural building blocks. QFD utilizes selected tools from Total Quality Management (TQM) problem-solving and planning, specifically from a set called the Seven Management and Planning Tools. Six Sigma uses several fundamental statistical and organizational tools to identify sources of variability, quantify them, and reduce or eliminate their effects on products, services, and processes.
