Among the facts that could lead to difficulties in the Canal Dreams scenario are the following: Canal Dreams has only recently been created from an amalgamation of six companies. Local staff who deal with holiday bookings have little or no IT experience. Canal Dreams has no in-house IT development staff which means the organization is going to be dependent on outside suppliers. New staff will need to be recruited to run the new booking system at the centre.
