3.1 Introduction
Chapter 1 described the typical stages of a project that implements an information system. The importance of controlling the project, that is ensuring that it conforms to the plan, was stressed. In Chapter 2, the way in which the plan for a particular project is created was explained. This chapter explores the means by which a project is monitored and controlled so that it broadly fulfils its plan. The mechanism for this is the project control life cycle.
