1.3 Project management
Having established and agreed objectives, how do we then achieve them? The first step is good planning. Having produced good plans, this should be followed by monitoring and effective control of the project to fulfil the plans. The plan and the ways in which we monitor progress must be focused on achieving the agreed objectives. Someone has to take responsibility for controlling the work in accordance with the plans. This is the role of the project manager.
Successful project management cannot be guaranteed but certain elements which contribute to success can be recognized.
