Chapter 24. Project Server and the Executive

Executives can use Project Web App to review the portfolio of work that is happening across the organization. Using analysis tools, you can review projects at varying stages in the project lifecycle. You can also define the elements that drive your business from your perspective — and then evaluate the projects in progress, as well as proposed projects, to find the collection of projects that best helps your organization meet its goals. This chapter presents a high-level overview of the Project Web App areas that might interest an executive.

Note

In earlier versions of Project Server, Project Web App was called Project Web Access. Because you can customize the appearance of Project Web App — and because Project Server 2010 was under construction at the time I wrote this chapter — the figures in this chapter might not match exactly what you see in your own installation of Project Server. For example, the screens still show Project Web Access.

Logging into Project Web App

You open Project Web App the same way other users open it: Use Internet Explorer and navigate to the IP address supplied by your Project Server administrator. Project Web App displays your Home page.
