Throughout the previous chapters we have dealt with different communication protocols without focusing directly on the type of security that you can use for each type of protocol. This chapter is going to focus on securing your service both from a communication and configuration perspective. We’ll look at both the client and the server, because sometimes your service acts as a client and sometimes it acts as a server. Although these are sometimes equivalent, when they are not, it is important to understand the differences and properly secure your code and your service.
