With the finance in place the pre-production period of a film now begins.
This is the time when the mechanics of the production are put together and the materials and the team who are to realize the film are gathered. In building terms it is the time when the blueprint of the script is translated into the solid forms of work schedules, materials and labour and the detailed working drawings or, in other words, the shooting script and possibly the storyboard, are drawn up. Obviously the more precise the blueprint, or the more detailed the shooting script, the better the opportunity for making the right decisions.
