The Production Process
An understanding of the basic structure of a production, from the start to the finish, is needed in order to realize what has to be done at any one moment in the making of a film because if this understanding is not there time will be wasted in pursuing the wrong requirements.
In simple terms this means that time should not be spent worrying about hiring an editing room or dubbing theatre if the locations have not been sorted out or the crew or equipment has not been hired. A production has a logical order and this needs to be followed if a successful conclusion is to be achieved.
