Chapter 9
Introduction
Developing a good redesign is something of an artistic endeavor. There is no predesignated outcome and no cookbook for getting there. Therefore, the techniques in this chapter are mostly based on the experience and practice of the author in applying a process with the confidence that the process is likely to end in success. The process for developing the redesign is to evaluate all recommended changes to this point in the project, first rationalizing them into a smaller set, and then analyzing which sets are beneficial in terms of cost to the organization.
