LEARNING BUSINESS AS AN ARTIST
In the days of the studio system, the executives were the businessmen, and they hired the filmmakers to be artists. By leveraging economies of scale – building reusable sets, purchasing equipment that could be used on multiple films, and hiring teams of craftsmen – they were able to produce films on an assembly-line model. These were some of the best films ever made, and every nation has copied the Hollywood model.
