Chapter 8. Transitions

A transition is the way one clip visually replaces the next. Although the cut is the most basic transition, the term transition usually refers to a more gradual change from one clip to another (Figure 8.1). Adobe Premiere ships with 75 customizable transitions, including an array of dissolves, wipes, and special effects. Available transitions are listed in a Transitions palette that organizes them into categorized folders. Ordinarily, you use a transition in the traditional manner: to change completely from one shot to the next.
