Regression
Regression is a data mining technique that is very similar to classification. With regression, you use the regression algorithms to predict a value of an attribute based on the other attributes in your data set. The predicted attribute is a continuous value attribute, which is unlike the target attribute used in classification. Typical examples of where regression can be used is in data preparation to determine missing data, calculation of dosages for prescriptions, financial predictions based on previous history, credit limits, life time values, and more.
