Chapter 7, “Logistic Regression: The Basics,” concerns itself with issues pertaining to the difficulties that a binomial (that is, dichotomous) variable presents when you want to predict the probabilities of one value or the other: buy/don’t buy, survive/don’t survive, vote/don’t vote, and so on.
