The Diversity of UNIX
As computer vendors ported UNIX to their own machines, they often gave it a unique name. The following section provides a partial list, in no special order, of some computer companies that sell UNIX systems.

Table 1.1 shows companies that have ported UNIX and the various names they have given their versions of UNIX.
