Abstract
BOP controls are mainly regenerative heater controls and recirculation controls like BFP and CEP. Recirculation controls are simple but quite critical for equipment protection. For large size plants and super critical plants BFP recirculation control has special significance. Control valve selection for BFP recirculation is also critical. In CEP recirculation there are variations in control philosophies, which are discussed with examples. Heater drain and vent control during normal operation as well as during emergency situations like heater tube rupture are discussed as well.
