5.0. Sample Conditioning
For optimum operation of a power plant, monitoring steam and water chemistry is extremely important. For such monitoring, it is essential that samples are taken from the strategic points in the plants and to condition the samples before sending the analyzers. Today, all sample points, pertinent to SWAS throughout the main power plant and associated places, are drawn to a central place sometimes are referred to as the “SWAS Room.” This is where the samples are conditioned and analyzed (exception: conditioned hotwell conductivity, which may be monitored at the field to avoid complexity of sample drawings).
