Electricity is the movement of charge through a conductor. How we manipulate this movement is the basis of modern technology. This chapter will cover how to control the flow of charge and some of its applications (Figure 13.1).

13.1   BATTERIES

Electricity is the movement of charge or electrons flowing through a conductor, Figure 13.2. Recall that like charges repel and unlike charges attract, Figure 13.3. To make an electron move, place another electron by it. Two electrons placed near each other will try to move apart.
