A rat's-eye view

The Idea
Low-down photography is an excellent way of showing a scene from a different viewpoint. Images taken at ground level are often more interesting than those taken at eye level because we are not used to seeing the world from a "rat's-eye view." A lot of the time views from the ground will have great perspective and depth, and it's a good technique to use at night if you're out without your tripod-after all, what is more sturdy than the ground you stand on?

Low-down photography can be handy for getting candid shots. Bend down as though you are doing up your shoelaces and lake your photo: it's not as noticeable, or disruptive, as raising a camera to your face.
