It is undoubtedly correct to say that digital communications, as a branch of engineering, is currently at an advanced stage. The market competition among similar products manufactured by different companies is fierce, and attaining even a small performance advantage for a particular product may drastically change a company’s financial standing. What becomes especially important in these circumstances is the fine-tuning of parameters of modern digital communications systems, yielding optimized system performance.
