This case study was intended to demonstrate how the Standards were used to guide a descriptive meta-evaluation and to help identify the strengths and weaknesses of the evaluation being meta-evaluated. A single case was examined: evaluation of the Interdisciplinary Rural Health Training Program (IRHTP).
Funded by federal and local sources, the IRHTP was established in 1994 in rural eastern North Carolina. Its purpose is to encourage the recruitment and retention of health care professionals in rural areas through student participation in a community-based interdisciplinary curriculum.
