In the quest for achieving long-term and sustainable resource productivity in a business, we have introduced 10 elements shown in Figure I.5 and we have explored each element briefly in the various chapters. We have also described a need to “close the loop” depicted in Figure 2.2, whereby the 10 elements form a chain of activities that are self-driving and self-sustaining and are also rooted in a company’s strategy and aspirations.
