Deena Altman and Jake Center met as fifteen-year-olds in summer camp, although they didn’t start dating until their midtwenties, when they were living in New York City. After three years, they got married and now have two energetic boys, Ian, seven, and Casey, four. Jake is a practicing attorney in Charleston, South Carolina. He recently began studying Transcendental Meditation, but this doesn’t eliminate the stress he feels as he tries to keep up at work and be present for his family.
