In Chapter 6, “Signaling Interfaces and MGCP Overview,” you learned the importance of call signaling and its place in the PacketCable architecture. You also gained a solid understanding of Media Gateway Control Protocol (MGCP). This chapter provides you with more real-world exposure to call signaling between PacketCable components; specifically, the multimedia terminal adapter (MTA) and call management server (CMS).
