Now that you have a general idea of the motivation behind the PacketCable initiative and the architecture of a PacketCable network, it is time to delve deeper into the individual components comprising the architecture. This chapter introduces each component separately; the protocols and procedures required to communicate between components are covered in detail in further chapters.
