The Financial Benefits of Ownership Thinking
Now that we’ve looked at the various moral, ethical, and developmental reasons for practicing Ownership Thinking, let’s look at the financial benefits. You may be thinking: “Where’s the beef?” In other words, what kind of measurable financial results might you expect by going down this path?
I mentioned in the Introduction to this book that we more than doubled our profitability in the first year of practicing Ownership Thinking at MFD. This is far from being an anomaly. I have seen similar (or better) results in dozens of companies since 1995, and very significant results in hundreds more. Let’s take a look at four examples.
