2.3.5 End-Capped Polyfluorenes
The very first and obvious reason for introducing the end groups, terminating the polymer chain, was to replace reactive functionalities (halogen, boronic acid, or metal–organic group), which can quench the fluorescence or decrease the stability of the material. Second, varying the feed ratio of the end-capping reagent, one can control the molecular weight of the polymer.
