Chapter 3. Data Manipulation and Control Statements
Data Manipulation Language (DML) statements access and manipulate data stored in the Oracle database. You can use them to insert, update, delete, and read data. Control statements are related, since they are used to control how Oracle operates when accessing data in the database. There are not as many DML and control statements as there are DDL (Data Definition Language) statements, but many do have a wide range of options and syntax choices. This chapter provides a quick reference to the functionality of these SQL commands and a guide to the syntax of each.
