Define the Scope
Once you have decided what products you will implement, you need to define the scope of the build. The scope is important to determine what you build and when. There are a couple of steps to defining the scope. The first step is to define the critical success factors, or the main purpose of your project. Since each product does something specifically, you should focus on that goal for the project. For example, if you are preparing for an HFM project, you should be focusing on financial consolidations and external financial reporting.
