Tuning the Database with Initialization Parameters (DBA)
The Oracle initialization files (SPFILE or a PFILE such as initSID.ora) determine many Oracle operating system environment attributes, such as memory allocated for data, memory allocated for statements, resources allocated for I/O, and other crucial performance-related parameters. Each version of Oracle has added to the total number of initialization parameters, and Oracle 12c is no exception, having added many new parameters, especially related to the In-Memory Database.
