Installing the Oracle Database and Enabling In-Memory
In this appendix, you will learn the first steps to using the Oracle Database In-Memory option: installing the Oracle Database and enabling the In-Memory option. If you are already using Oracle Database for an existing application or data warehouse, you can enable the In-Memory option in that database instance. Note, however, that the In-Memory option is supported only on Oracle Database release 12.0.1.0 and later; if your database version is previous to that, you must upgrade to 12cR1 or higher before you can use In-Memory.
