Notice how: (Intrinsic Value + Time Value) = the option price

Formulas for Intrinsic and Time Values for puts:

  • Put Intrinsic Value = exercise price–stock price

  • Put Time Value = put premium (or value)–put Intrinsic Value

The minimum Intrinsic Value is zero.
