Abstract
Typical challenges that manufacturing systems are facing now are: (1) lack of timely, accurate, and consistent information of distributed manufacturing resources of a manufacturing system such as shop floor; (2) lack of an overall solution to track, trace, share the real-time manufacturing information among manufacturing system layer, workshop floor layer, and machine layer, and then provide an optimal decision for the manufacturing system.
