You learned in Chapter 15 that Solaris 11 adds new features to the networking utility suite. These additions include tools for managing the data link layer (dladm) and IP interface layer (ipadm) as distinct objects. There are also new conveniences such as the nwamd process which will adapt your configuration to any network that supports a Dynamic Host Configuration Protocol (DHCP) server.
