The Guide Mode

The Nikon D3200 has a built-in Guide mode (guidemode.eps) that walks you through using the camera. When you rotate the Mode dial to Guide (guidemode.eps), the LCD screen on the back of the camera shows the top level of the Guide mode (guidemode.eps), which allows you to choose from the Shoot, View/delete, or Set up guides, as shown in Figure 1.11. Each of the guides walks you through the Nikon D3200 and its functions. The Guide mode (guidemode.eps) is great when you are getting started with a dSLR or with the D3200 because, not only does it show you what needs to be set, but it sets it for you.

The Shoot guide has two main options: Easy operation and Advanced operation. Each covers a huge number of specific situations.
