1.2.1 Temperature

The measurement of temperature is naturally associated with the definition of a temperature scale.

Celsius temperature scale: Fahrenheit temperature scale:
defined such that defined such that
0 °C = ice point of water 32o F = ice point of water
100 °C = boiling point of water. 212oF = boiling point of water

Note: Standard atmospheric pressure (1 atm) is defined as 760 mm Hg (ρ = 13.5951 g/cm3) at g = 9.80665 msec−2.
