Abstract:

This chapter discusses the process of ‘de-maturity’ of the European textile industry, moving away from its traditional roots in an attempt to revive the fortunes of this mature industry, through the adoption of novel technologies, such as nanotechnology, microelectronics and/or biotechnology.
