Abstract:

This chapter reviews the nature of innovation, particularly the concept of ‘disruptive innovation’ and the forces driving market change. It then discusses ways companies can innovate, before specifically considering the nature of innovation in the textile industry. The chapter concludes with a series of case studies of how both larger and smaller textile companies have successfully developed innovative products.
