Copyright: How copyright impacts on-reserve delivery and process
Library services have always been affected by copyright laws. Licenses are signed with copyright collectives and royalties are paid on the amount of photocopying done on campus machines. In some countries, such as Canada, desk-top delivery of interlibrary loan materials is not allowed and public performance rights are needed for classroom showings of media content. Access to electronic journal databases is limited to the local academic community, as subscription fees are normally based on current student enrollments of individual institutions.
