Elements or preparation steps for the reader to select from in this chapter are listed in the recommended order of succession. You select the steps you wish to use based on your organization’s needs and the context in which you will be bargaining.

Phase One was the high-level strategic planning, Phase Two was the topographic map that anticipated the details that the boots on the ground might need, and Phase Three was a bit about the actual negotiations or bargaining process. Phase Four is about management’s implementation of the new CBA. In most cases, changes from the new CBA will be fully implemented within three months of ratification, often much sooner.
