This chapter begins, rather than ends, with a case study. It is drawn from my own experience and career because it touched on most of what it takes to be successful in manufacturing. Though this was some time back, the basics and concepts remain relevant to this day. My journey began as vice-president of manufacturing operations for Seagate Technology, building drives that store digital data.
