Chapter 16. Command-Line Utilities
This chapter describes the utilities that you can use to administer
the MySQL server and data. Some interact with the server, and others
manipulate MySQL’s datafiles directly. Others can be used to make backups of
data (e.g., mysqldump
). The utilities are listed here in
alphabetical order.
Some of these utilities are provided with MySQL and are typically installed in a standard directory for executables so that they are automatically on the user’s command path. Other utilities have to be downloaded and installed from MySQL AB’s site or from a third-party site.
