10.1 Introduction
In the last few years, the emerging advanced video coding standards or codecs have become the focus of multimedia industries and research institutes, such as H.264/MPEG-4 AVC established by Joint Video Team (JVT) [1], video codec-1 (VC-1) by Microsoft [2], and Audio Video Coding Standard (AVS) [3].
