MIMO SAR Waveform Diversity and Design

All the multi-antenna SARs discussed in previous chapters are single-input multiple-output (SIMO) operation mode. It is necessary to extend them to multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) operation mode. In this chapter, we first discuss waveform diversity and design for MIMO SAR imaging. MIMO is a technique used in wireless communications to increase data throughout and link range without additional bandwidth or transmitting power. MIMO radar has received vibrant attention in recent years; however, the MIMO SAR discussed in this book is different from general MIMO radars because aperture synthesis with moving platform is usually employed in MIMO SAR but stationary platform without aperture synthesis ...
