Information in This Chapter
Earlier chapters discussed how computing resources and application development and deployment platforms can be delivered as a service, so that developers can leverage the cloud IT infrastructure to create novel application services. This chapter looks at some popular cloud applications that a developer who wants to create service-oriented applications can use as good examples. It covers SaaS web sites targeted towards business (such as Salesforce.com), social computing web sites, such as Facebook and also consumer-centric SaaS use cases for document services (Google Docs).
