On the subject of hirsuteness, Paul
Richer, in Nouvelle anatomie artistique
(New artistic anatomy), volume 1, cites
the works of Henri Beaunis and Abel
Bouchard. However, looking at the many
photographs that can be found online of
models who are either extremely hairy or
suffer from hypertrichosis, I have not seen
any true correspondence with the “maps”
that these authors provide. Their works
can be found on Gallica, the website of the
Bibliothèque nationale (the French National
Library): https://gallica.bnf.fr.
