Business analysts have a curiosity about the business environment. They are keen to understand how processes can be improved, how customers can be given better service and, ultimately, how their organisations can be successful. As analysts though, if we want to understand how things work and can be improved, we can’t look at processes alone. The other key dimension that underlies all of these aspects, and provides a firm foundation for the organisation’s work, is the information that makes the business operate. Information is the lifeblood of organisations and the people working within them.
