Relax NG

It didn’t take long after the XML Schema Recommendation was released on May 2, 2001, until a specification for an alternate schema definition language was launched. It was August 11, and this was Relax NG. The proposal was backed by OASIS, one of the organizations behind the definition of the ebXML standard. OASIS (www.oasis-open.org) hosts some web pages that provide further information and tools regarding Relax NG [Clark2001] [Murata2001].
